The Schöntal Monastery has around 150 beds divided between three buildings. The rooms in the Bildungshaus (New Abbey) are lovingly restored cells of former monks.
There’s a total of 88 rooms: they are light and airy, with practical furnishings, and have a desk with light, telephone, and plenty of space to store your clothes and other important items. WiFi has been available in all the rooms since 2015.
Nearly all the rooms have their own bathroom with shower / WC. A few have shared sanitary facilities close by. We provide you with a fluffy bathrobe to wear when you go from your room to the bathroom.
Enjoy the soothing tranquillity, the wonderful natural surroundings. Recharge your batteries. Following our maxim “more – less – differently” it will be our greatest pleasure to show you our hospitality.

free WIFI
The building has ground-level entry to a lift giving access to all the areas of the main house, such as dining hall, reception and rooms on the first and second floor. Two of the rooms have been adapted to be wheelchair-accessible.
No smoking is permitted in any of the public areas of the house, or any of the bedrooms. There are some designated smoking areas.
For larger groups and families we can provide additional beds or cots in the rooms. There is no charge for children aged up to 3 years sleeping in their parents' room. For children aged between 4 and 13 the charge is half the normal rate. We provide high chairs in the dining hall. There is a children's playground in the monastery garden.
There is free public parking in the monastery grounds; there are also parking places for coaches.
